Viet-Anh Tran
PhD student
Viet-Anh Tran is presently PhD student in the group of Prof. J.-C. Charlier, within the modelling division (MODL) of the Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences (IMCN), at the University of Louvain (Belgium). He earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from Vietnam National University (VNU) of Science (2019), with a thesis related to the Berry phases and its interplay with strongly correlated electronic systems. He later received a pre-PhD diploma in condensed matter and statistical physics from the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in 2021. His dissertation focused on computational studies of uniform and boundary-frustrated quantum spin chains. His current scientific interests lie in understanding new exotic quantum phenomena in novel moiré materials by investigating their electronic and transport properties using a tight-binding approach (enriched by first-principle calculations).
